As the environments in which information systems exist are becoming increasingly dynamic and complex, there is a need to study information systems in holistic nontraditional ways. The Complex Information Systems group researches fundamental problems bearing on information systems such as context, the semantics of information and complexity by drawing on theories from areas such as quantum physics, cognitive science, artificial intelligence and philosophy.
